Why travel can cause constipation
Travel and vacations often disrupt our normal routines and can lead to constipation. Different foods and drinks, altered sleep patterns, and even using an unfamiliar toilet can all play a role.
A portable stool to improve position
Use a travel toilet stool to help you get into a more effective position to pass stool. Have you seen the Porta-squatty from @squattypotty? I highly recommend it. It’s portable, folds up flat and has its own bag. It’s perfect for travel and will help keep you in a better position to relax and more fully empty.
Tips to help you stay regular
- Drink plenty of water and clear liquids.
- Avoid taking extra fiber: this in combination with being dehydrated can cause bloating and make constipation worse.
- Avoid foods that are high in fat.
- Exercise and stay physically active.
- Get plenty of rest.
- Don’t ignore your body’s signals that it’s time to go.
